 Building Green

This region is committed to building sustainable. Across our 12 county
region there are numerous LEED building opportunitie, thousands of
certified LEED experts and a variety of competitive financial incentives.

Onondaga County is the first in the region to offer a Green Building PILOT
(payment in lieu of tax) Credit. The Green PILOT Tax Credit is a program of the
Onondaga County Industrial Development Agency (OCIDA) to encourage the
construction of new LEED certified buildings throughout the county. The credit will
reduce property taxes for qualifying projects. The amount of the credit increases
as the level of LEED certification increases. For more information call the
Onondaga County Office of Economic Development: 315-435-3770 or go to
 www.SyracuseCentral.com/Green.
