Amy Dickinson has lived in London, Washington, D.C., New York City, and Chicago, but home will always be Freeville, NY; the people and quality of life that exist there.

Last February she brought her hometown to the world with her memoire “The Mighty Queens of Freeville: A Mother, A Daughter, and the Town that Raised Them”.

My hometown is where I feel most like myself. Sitting on my mother’s porch, surrounded by family, I feel known. Emily (her daughter) and I admire our neighbor’s flowers and produce, ride our bikes, eat the locally famous chicken bbq, talk, scheme, and dream, Says Dickinson.
